“This study conducts a topic analysis of the content of Diet members’ Twitter(X) feeds, analyzing the number and characteristics of tweets(posts) by political parties based on the keyword “university” mentioned on Twitter, with the aim of exploring the political situation and policy background surrounding higher education in Japan. We examine the differences (number of tweets and timing) between the information and opinions that politicians (political parties) transmit on Twitter and the deliberations in the Diet, the official forum for policy discussions, paying particular attention to words such as “free education” and “scholarships”. |
