| 内容記述 | In Japan many adults enjoy courses in hobbies as lifelong learning. However, studies in lifelong leaning and adult education have failed in catching the meaning of those courses. The purpose of this paper is get a frame of reference to that meaning through the review of the studies on “Culture Center”, which is a private institution that offers adult education courses mainly in hobbies./ “ Culture Center ” came into fashion in the middle of the 1970s and was particularly popular till 1990s. Its popularity was too shocking to the researchers on social education for them to reflect on the significance of courses in hobbies. At the same time those who think of the popularity as natural by tradition haven't tried to contemplate on it either./ Thus we see us confronted by two difficulties. The first is whether courses in hobbies should be politically accepted as a sort of artistic activities. The second is why Japanese have become apt to practice or exercise for pleasure. | |||||
