Owen (1771-1858) have been studied from the various points of view, and have been highly appreciated. However, theory and practice of R. Owen united labou with education in the true sense of the words. 内容記述 Up to this time, the educational ideas of R. Owen (1771-1858) have been studied from the various points of view, and have been highly appreciated. However, theory and practice of R. Owen concerning the labour education have not been satisfactorily clarified by those preceeding studies. Their opinions might be reduced to the following three kinds, (1) R. Owen united labou with education in the true sense of the words. (2) It was not until the issue of the 'Report to Lanak' (1821) that Owen clarified his ideas about the combination of labour and education. (3) Owen did neither recognize nor insist the importance of labour in education.
