内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 Both the foundation and collapse of the Soviet Union produced dramatic changes in socio-political conditions. In the aftermath of the collapse, many emigrated from the former Soviet bloc to Western countries. These migrants propagated eastern cultures all over Western countries and as a result cultural clashes between immigrations and the people of the host countries ensued, often leading to economic discrimination and disparity. These issues remain alive today. The topic of immigration has been a subject of study for years in the field of the History of Religions. Above all, Mircea Eliade, who lived in exile in France, actively worked for the resolution of immigration problems and expressed opposition to the Romanian Communist regime. Monica Lovinescu, who was a leading advocate for Romanian exiles as well as a radio anchor for exiles, cooperated with Eliade in carrying out protest campaigns against the Romanian and Soviet Communist regimes. It has been considered that Eliade’s concept of religion was a key factor in the resistance against these regimes. This paper focuses on Lovinescu’s text such as Unde Scurte, Bucureşti, and Humanitas. I elucidate what Eliade calls religion and argue that he understood religion as something that was contrary to the propaganda of the Communist regime due to its intertwinement with the Romanian national resistance.
