| 内容記述 | In this paper, I attempt to examine one task carried out by Friedrich Schlegel in terms that go beyond literary theory. In the first section, I locate his ideas on the need for "die neue Mythologie" within the transformation of his thought. Priedrich Schlegel is known as a representative of German Romanticism. However, after 1800, his thought shifted in the direction of Catholicism. In the second section, I examine the ways in which he recognized "reality" through comparisons with aspects of his ancestry, as well as his attempts to reconstruct the literary tradition of Herder and Goethe and the Idealism of Fichte. Schlegel's interpretation of reality was more closely aligned with German Idealism than that of Herder and Goethe, and at the same time more Mythologie than that of Fichte. I examine his theories on "die neue Mythologie" in the third section. For this purpose, I compare Schlegel's writings with a text by Franz Rosenzweig entitled Das dlteste Systemprogramm des deutschen Idealismus. Schlegel's idealized "neue Mythologie" required its own community. This was to be a community ruled by artists (Kilnstler) conscious of the infinity (Unendliche] of the universe. His project was ultimately left incomplete, his failure a result of the limited "reality" he recognized. | |||||
