| 内容記述 | In The Myth of the Eternal Return, Eliade speaks of the overcoming of historical conditioning in archaic ontologies. Elsewhere, in the context of the thought and practices of India, he speaks of the path of liberation from the human condition. Again, elsewhere, he suggests that the idea of homo faber from the alchemical heritage applies to the modern world in its attempt to extricate itself from temporality-a dangerous situation that finally elicits a creative response. Convinced that this kind of creativity vis-a-vis history is not restricted to the Western world, as is patent in the case of the cargo cults of Melanesia, Eliade seeks a systematic interpretation. Eliade does just this in his Australian Religions. There, he takes up the disappearance of the sky-gods not as a mythical motif but as an historical process taking place within the aboriginal myth of sacred history. He draws attention to the way in which contacts with Western civilization provoked any number of novel and creative religious responses among Australia aboriginal people. Eliade's interest in religious creativity, as evidenced in Australian Religions, continued on later in his work, A History of Religious Ideas. | |||||
