| 内容記述 | Using the birth of Konkokyo as an example, this paper is a case study serving as preparatory work towards theoretical research on the creation of new traditions and the birth of religious organizations. Towards that end, investigating Susumu Shimazono's research paper, "Ikigami Shiso Ron (theory of the living Kami idea)", which offered a new perspective on the general theory of the birth of new religious movements, this paper will especially reposition the three indices which have been offered in that paper as the doctrines and constituent activities which have fundamental significance in the birth of new religions, those three indices being the Kami - the - parent idea, acts of salvation, and the living Kami idea. In this paper the phenomenon of the birth of new religions is considered as having two phases, namely the birth of a religion as a tradition and, within that tradition, the birth of a religious organization. For that reason, the organizational and institutional element of "religious organization" is offered as an important element to be added to the three indices mentioned above, and by means of an historical reading of the interaction of these four indices the birth of Konkokyo is described. The birth of Konkokyo can be looked at in the following way. The religious tradition which originates in belief in Konko Daijin, arrising out of the folk religious tradition, forms, as part of the process of the development of the modern emperor-system state, a religious organization as one sect of Sect Shinto. However, within the religious organization thus formed, the ideal of salvation by faith gradually becomes an issue. In this process the way that the founder is viewed takes on great importance. The questioning of the way the founder is viewed leads to a discovery of the creedal and doctrinal importance of toritsugi as a act of salvation in the religious tradition which has its origin in Konko Daijin. From there, the founder is described as the being which pioneers the way of toritsugi, offering ultimate salvation for the human race. As a result, as part of the process of recovery from the 1934 - 35 Incident which caused internal problems in the religious organization, "Konkokyo as the religious organization of toritsugi", founded on the idea of toritsugi and the new view of the founder, develops as a way to save the religious organization. It is only with the development of Konkokyo as the religious organization of toritsugi that the formation of Konkokyo where the Kami-the-parent idea acts of salvation, the living Kami idea as the view of the founder, and the religious institution are closely linked is accomplished. In other words, we can understand the phenomenon of the birth of Konkokyo as being accompanied by the historical process of the birth of "Konkokyo as the religious organization of toritsugi" Of course, Konkokyo as the religious organization of toritsugi can also be questioned. One reason for that would be the publication of the Konkokyo Kyoten as the scripture of Konkokyo in 1983, but that will be left as a topic to be taken up in the future. At any rate, this consideration of the interrelatedness of the process of the birth of a religious tradition and the process of the birth of a religious organization should make clear the need for a theory which covers the creation of new religious tradition and the birth of religious organizations. | |||||
