内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 Editing and receiving Myokonin-den (a biography of Myokonin) can be seen as the process of conceptualization of Myokonin as an ideal adherent of the Shin sect. Even the academic approaches to the process have also participated in this situation. Kashiwahara Yusen describes the following main stream of the history; the intention of editing changed from the education based on the Confucian ethic or the nationalist ideology in the last years of Kinsei and the Meiji era to the thematization of the contents of the pure individual belief in the first years of the Showa era. The records of the sayings and deeds of the believers which appeared in the Taisho era are placed in the proceeding phenomena of the latter editions. What is questionable here is the point of view which regards two kinds of description as the same thing. The description of Shinja meguri, the records of the travels looking for believers published in 1922, is unique in the point that it richly involves questions and answers among believers, and they are centered on the problem how they receive the doctrine of "nishu jinshin" in the Shin sect. Such description would not have been adopted without the confidence of probability that the contents are represented more properly in the situation of the questions and answers or in the documentation of such situation. Suzuki Daisetsu, the founder of the academic approach to Myokonin-den after the World War II, also noted the questions and answers, but his concern was to find "the spiritual awareness" in Myokonin. Among his works about Myokonin, Shukyokeiken no jijitsu (1943) adopted the records of the sayings and words as reference, while Myokonin (1948) the poetry and prose written by the believers themselves. In the former work, to clarify the "the spiritual awareness" he needed to abstract the self expression of the believers, but in the latter this was not needed. In other words, the records of the sayings and words was not the completely proper form for his approach.
