| 内容記述 | The earlier studies about educational materials have mainly focused on textbooks used in schools. But, historically, not only books but various kinds of materials have been used as educational media in Japan. In this paper, I focus on ""Kyoiku Nishiki-e"" (educational wood block prints) used as a visual educational media in early Meiji era, and clarify their ideological background in the educational policy. For that purpose, I pick out two persons, Tanaka Fujimaro and Nakamura Masanao that were both involved in early child education, women's education, and home education at the time. I explore the connections between their educational ideas and ""Kyoiku Nishiki-e"" to come out the political meanings of these visual educational media. | |||||
