The qualitative data obtained from 6-months fieldwork, which consisted of participant observation, formal and informal interviews, and document materials, was analyzed according to Grounded Theory Approach. Consequently, it is suggested that an in-hospital school is a composite place that has 6 educational characteristics: characteristics of special schools, normal schools, small schools, pre-schools, family education and special education for the health-impaired.
