内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to explore the features of children's interaction when learning using a "mouse". Data were gathered by observing a fifth grade computer-based small group exploratory learning. Topic of the exploration was technological developments of food production. The research had four groups. All groups were studied for the content and function of children's conversation using coding analysis, while the two, for interpretive analysis. Results of the coding analysis showed that the children's conversation focused more on their concern about the procedure of the activity. It also showed that the member who was not operating the mouse criticized the one operating the mouse. The interpretive analysis showed that members who did not operate the mouse gave suggestions to the mouse-operator ways to perform the group activity. These suggestions reflected their intentions on how to go about the group task, their desire to influence, and control the group process. During learning, the mouse-operator maintained a balanced between accommodating other members'suggestions and his own intentions. Subjects also recognized that the mouse-operator can take the initiative to start the group activity. Findings also showed that the content of children's communication during group learning was influenced by their individual learning styles. | |||||
