内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 This study investigates the "Nichigo Gakko", a modern private school in Korea, which was established by a nongovernment Japanese individuals. The "Nichigo Gakko" was founded by Japanese, in order to establish general education with Japanese language before colonization in 1910. This paper reconsiders such a school as an early type of Korean modern school, and clarified what kind of Korean modern school had been planned by Japanese. In order to pursue the above issue, I took into consideration three problems as follows. 1) What was the moment and purpose for the Japanese to establish the "Nichigo Gakko"? 2) In educational system, which grade level did the "Nichigo Gakko" attempt to introduce general education, among primary, secondary, and higher education? 3) What kind of curriculum did the school adopt as contents? The following three conclusions are pointed out, 1) The establishment of the "Nichigo Gakko" was a part of policy of imperialistic epansionism based on nationalism of Japan. In other words, the purpose of that school was not for teaching foreign language but for building up the colonial modern school. 2) The eductional level of "secondary" and "higher" schools were debased to the primary and secondary one. It was "industrial secondary education" in Japan. 3) The modern science in that school was nothing but a "practical course" taught by Japanese. In conclusion, the "Nichigo Gakko" was an institution for cultural invasion with Japanese language, which was planned to build up "industrial middle school", mainly consisted of "practical courses".
