| 内容記述 | 本稿では、バルプナル(2011)で十分に述べることができなかったトルコ語指示詞の文脈指示用法 bu/o+名詞型における名詞の省略可能性(統語的削除の可能性)について詳しく検討し、文脈指示用法bu/o(+Ø)型の持つ以下の特性について論じる。 (i) 同一発話文脈が与えられた場合、bu+名詞型と bu(+Ø)型の交替において bu+名詞型の存在はbu(+Ø)型の存在の必要条件であり、従って bu(+Ø)型は全て bu+名詞型の省略形であると考えられ、その意味で bu(+Ø)型には(bu+名詞型からの省略を伴わない)名詞句照応形としての用法は存在しない。 (ii) 一方 bu+名詞型の存在は bu(+Ø)型の存在にとって十分条件ではない。bu+名詞型の存在が bu(+Ø)型の十分条件として機能するためには、bu+名詞型の名詞の指示対象が発話現場に存在することが必要となる。(但し、bu+名詞型自身は、指示対象の発話現場での存在を必要としない。) (iii) 同一発話文脈が与えられた場合、o+名詞型と o(+Ø)型の交替において、o+名詞型の存在は o(+Ø)型の存在の必要条件を構成しておらず、従って o(+Ø)型には o+名詞型からの省略を経由しない場合がある。こうした(o+名詞型からの省略を伴わない) o(+Ø)型の存在をバルプナル(2011) で見た名詞句照応形としての o として位置付けることができる。 (iv) 一方 o+名詞型の存在は o(+Ø)型の存在にとって十分条件であり、省略を伴う o(+Ø)型には上記(ii)で見た指示対象の発話現場における存在は必要とされない。 (v) 文脈指示用法の bu / o(+Ø)型が持つ上記(i)～(iv)の特性は (a) 指示詞用法における先行発話文脈への依存度の階層性(省略が引き起こす発話文脈の消失とそれに伴う非文脈指示性への部分的回帰)と (b) 非文脈指示用法が持つ現場性・直示性への依存度の強さの程度によって説明可能である。 |

| 内容記述 | In this paper, focusing on the text-dependent usage of the Turkish demonstratives, we analyse the reduction (i.e. syntactic deletion) possibility of the noun in the “bu / o+noun” phrase, which has not been comprehensively discussed in Balpinar (2011). The following points are argued in this paper: (i) In the same linguistic text, the presence of a “bu+noun” phrase is a necessary condition for the occurrence of the “bu(+Ø)” phrase, and hence we can consider all usages of “bu(+Ø)” as reduced forms of “bu+noun”. In this sense, it is possible to assume that “bu(+Ø)” does not function as an NP anaphor, since the NP anaphor is not derived from “bu+noun” by means of reduction. (ii) The presence of “bu+noun” is not a sufficient condition for the occurrence of “bu(+Ø)”, because another condition must be realized for “bu+noun” to function as a sufficient condition of “bu(+Ø)”; i.e., the entity denoted by the noun of “bu+noun” must physically exist in the context of utterance. (iii) When the same text is given, the presence of “o+noun” does not constitute a necessary condition for the occurrence of “o(+Ø)”. It is thus entailed that there are “o(+Ø)” forms which cannot be derived from “o+noun” forms via reduction. Such usage of o can be characterized as NP anaphors mentioned in Balpinar (2011). (iv) The presence of “o+noun” is a sufficient condition for the occurrence of “o(+Ø)”, and hence we can consider that “o(+Ø)” undergoes reduction. Unlike bu in (ii), o of this category does not need physical existence of the referent in the context of utterance. (v) The properties (i)-(iv), identified in the text-dependent usage of “bu / o(+Ø)”, can be explained by (a) difference in the dependency on the preceding text (i.e. the loss of the preceding text triggered by deletion and the partial regression to the non-text-dependent characteristic), as well as (b) difference in the intensity of dependency on the deictic characteristics, which the non-text-dependent demonstratives exhibit. |
