| 内容記述 | This thesis seeks to identify the factors that affect how the faculty members of national universities in Japan allocate time for educational activities. The analyses are based on data collected from the “Survey on faculty members of national universities” conducted by the University of Tokyo in 2010. Analyses were conducted to examine if time allocation differs by individual factors (e.g., gender, age, fields of study) as well as by institutional factors (e.g., type of university, hours of classes, hours of preparation per class). Additional analyses examined how the differences in time allocation affect the way the classes are delivered by professors, and the professors’ perceptions about the future direction of education. The results indicated time allocation differed depending on individual and institutional factors as well as their influence on faculty members. Such trends have implications for the future direction of Japan’s National university reformation policy. | |||||
