In this study, we examine one such statistical models namely the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) model using nonlinear quantile regression, and its significance in the context of educational accountability systems. We address issues relating the statistical properties of the SGP model by comparing it to other familiar model Value-Added Models, with an aim to improve the existing SGP model.
