内容記述 | This paper examines the career and texts of Sozo Kurahashi (1882-1955), one of the founders and the first president of the Japan Society of Research on Early Childhood Care and Education, up to around 1915, based on an interest in how the disciplines of pedagogy and study by childcare were formed in modern Japan. While conventional research has sufficiently discussed Kurahashi’s theory of childcare, i.e., how he thought about and practiced the contents and methods of childcare, little has been done on how he thought about the nature of his research and what role he played in the various systems that regulated it. As a result of this study, it became clear that Kurahashi was expected to play a leading role in the field of psychology at that time, and was aware of his role as a introducer of psychology by actually being involved in the establishment of research groups and academic journals, and that he had a naturalistic view of children and a vision of the linkage of various studies centering on children. The fundamental theory and methodology of his vision was genetic psychology. | |||||||||
