| 内容記述 | This article reviews special education support staff (Tokubetsushienkyoiku-shienin, in Japan) working in Japan’s elementary or junior high schools. The 50 previously published studies were categorized according to their research objectives as follows: (a) studies of the actual utilization of the support staff, (b) research on the support staff themselves and actual support practices, (c) practical reports about application examples and/or training of the support staff. Future research topics include the following: (a) identify the expertise of the support staff, such as knowledge and thoughts used in support practice; (b) empirically examine the effectiveness of support provided by the support staff; (c) conduct practical research for the support staff in junior high schools and special needs education classes. | |||||||||
