Regional correction factor as a function of epicentral distance subtractive from the calibrating function Q(⊿) are calculated for the five reference stations, College/Alaska, Tonto Forest/Arizona, Caracas/Venezuela, Port Moresby/New Guinea and Rabaul/New Britain Island.|Gutenberg-Richter(1956)によってあたえられたQ -functionが震央距離⊿&gne30°でのP波の振巾と⊿との関係をあたえるよい近似関数であることは観測および理論からたしかめられている.しかしあさい震源(H⪇50km)をもつ地震のマグニチュードmpzが⊿⪈30°できめられたものと⊿<30°できめられたものとでは顕著な相違を示す場合がある.これはQ -functionが⊿<30°ではかならずしもP波の振巾と⊿との関係をあたえるよい近似関数ではないことをしめしている.特に地域によって5゜⪇⊿<く13°できめられたmpzが⊿⪈30°できめられたmpzと比較して,0.5ないし1.5程度おゝきくみつもられる傾向があるという事実は,Q -functionによってあたえられる⊿=10゜近傍のP波の振巾が極度にちいさくみつもられすぎていることに対応する. | |||||
